Enhanced Level-Up

Using your level-up points for any of the 3 stats (Power, Vitality, Agility) will now fill up the enhancement bar for that stat. After 3 upgrades, the next stat upgrade will be enhanced. An enhanced stat upgrade will provide a multiplied stat boost. It could be a 2x, 3x, or 5x stat boost, based on chance.


Upgrade the invincibility period with Agility Upgrades

Upgrading your Agility stat will now also grant increased invincibility periods (the time which the player doesn't take any damage, after taking damage).


Enemy distance management

Previously, if you were fast enough, you could run away from a huge flock of enemies and forget about their existence for a while. With this update, enemies will teleport back to you from the opposite side (while keeping a safe distance of course) to make them never stray too far away from your screen.


Doubled wave duration and game time

Previously, each enemy wave lasted only 30 seconds, and within this time period, the enemy spawn interval reduced gradually. Since new enemy types and variations appear after each wave, the player doesn't have a lot of time to adjust to any new enemies they encounter. Because of this, I decided to double the wave duration, making the spawn interval reduction much more gradual and giving the player more breathing room.

Bosses will now spawn after each 4 minutes and the final boss will automatically spawn at 20 minutes. This way, the player has room to explore the map more and gather more resources to prepare for future updates on exploration, resource gathering, and crafting.


Enemy hit-stop

When hit by the player's bullets, enemies will now be slightly knocked back. Smaller enemies will be knocked back further while bigger enemies will not be affected much. This gives the player a chance to push away the oncoming swarm of enemies off their backs. I will be adding the same knockback force to special weapons in the future.


Other Changes

  • Save file updatesSave files are now updated while keeping the existing data intact. This basically means that when you collect resources or upgrade your equipment permanently in any future updates, even if the saved files or their formats are changed, anything you've done previously will be saved even after the files get changed.
  • Music muffle on pause: When pausing the game by any means (escaping, leveling up, unlocking new equipment, etc.), background music will be muffled. This will break the immersion from the game for the period where the player needs to relax a bit and think hard about their choices.
  • Added sound effect for pusler special weapon.
  • Added visual feedback on saving settings and equipment. When saving equipment, the menu will be automatically closed, meaning that the save was successful. When saving settings in the settings menu, a small text will appear at the bottom of the screen notifying the player that the settings have been saved.
  • New special weapon - Landmine: Drops explosive landmines around the player at fixed intervals. Further upgrades can increase the damage, and explosion radius and reduce the delay between deployments of the landmine.
  • Removed module - Invincibility module: With the introduction of invincibility upgrades on Agility stat, this module seemed no longer necessary.
  • New module - Shock Suit: In place of the removed invincibility module, this module will make the enemies get shocked while the player is invincible. The shock suit will only trigger after the player gets damaged and this will not damage enemies. Enemies touching the player while the shock suit is active will stun the enemy for a few seconds, making them unable to move.
  • Healing items now heal based on Max HP: Healing items such as berries and hearts now heal based on the player's max HP. This gives the Vitality stat upgrades more value.
  • Enemies higher than tier 2 will now also drop medium XP orbs: While this is not a finalized adjustment, all the NEW enemies that spawn after wave 2 (not wave 1-2 but 2-1) used to drop small XP orbs as the default XP orb. These enemies will receive further updates, grating them new abilities, and when that happens, they will drop better XP orbs.
